Finding the right place to live
“When I first started looking for accommodation in Segovia, my biggest concern was finding a place that was close to the university and comfortable enough for long study hours. I also wanted to live somewhere that felt like home, not just a temporary student dorm,” Michael recalls.
After searching online and reading recommendations from other students, he came across Student Houses Segovia. “What really convinced me was the simplicity of the renting process and the fact that the apartments were fully furnished. I didn’t have to worry about setting up WiFi, buying furniture, or dealing with complicated contracts—it was all sorted for me.”
First impressions of his apartment
Arriving in Segovia, Michael was pleasantly surprised. “The apartment was exactly as described—modern, clean, and well-equipped. Everything was set up, from the internet to the kitchen essentials. I felt at home immediately.”
He also appreciated the support from the team at Student Houses Segovia. “They were super responsive. If I had any questions or small issues, they were quick to help. It made my transition to living in Spain much easier.”
Life in Segovia as an international student
Settling into Segovia was a new experience for Michael, who had never lived in a small historic town before. “At first, I thought I might miss the big city vibe, but honestly, Segovia has its own charm. It’s a beautiful place with a great student community. You quickly get to know people, and there are plenty of cafés and study spots where students hang out.”
Michael’s favorite place to relax? “Definitely Plaza Mayor—it’s the perfect spot to grab a coffee and unwind after class. I also enjoy walking around the Alcázar in the evenings, especially at sunset. It’s something I’ll never get tired of.”
Studying at IE University
Academically, Michael finds IE University both challenging and rewarding. “The professors are great, and the projects are very hands-on. I like how international the student body is—you meet people from all over the world. It’s intense, but the collaborative environment makes it enjoyable.”
Balancing studies with social life is key.
“IE organizes a lot of student events, and since Segovia is small, it’s easy to meet up with friends. I’ve also taken weekend trips to Madrid, which is just a short train ride away.”
Advice for future students
For students considering Segovia, Michael has some advice:
1. Plan your accommodation early – “Good apartments get taken quickly, so don’t wait until the last minute.”
2. Embrace the local culture – “Try speaking Spanish, even if it’s just basic phrases. Locals appreciate the effort!”
3. Make the most of your time here – “It’s a unique place to study—enjoy the experience, explore the city, and build connections.”
Would he recommend Student Houses Segovia? “Without a doubt. The process was hassle-free, and my apartment has been a great place to live.
For any international student, having a reliable accommodation provider makes all the difference.”
