Michael’s favorite place to relax? “Definitely Plaza Mayor—it’s the perfect spot to grab a coffee and unwind after class. I also enjoy walking around the Alcázar in the evenings, especially at sunset. It’s something I’ll never get tired of.”

Studying at IE University

Academically, Michael finds IE University both challenging and rewarding. “The professors are great, and the projects are very hands-on. I like how international the student body is—you meet people from all over the world. It’s intense, but the collaborative environment makes it enjoyable.”

Balancing studies with social life is key. 

“IE organizes a lot of student events, and since Segovia is small, it’s easy to meet up with friends. I’ve also taken weekend trips to Madrid, which is just a short train ride away.”

Advice for future students

For students considering Segovia, Michael has some advice:

1. Plan your accommodation early – “Good apartments get taken quickly, so don’t wait until the last minute.”

2. Embrace the local culture – “Try speaking Spanish, even if it’s just basic phrases. Locals appreciate the effort!”

3. Make the most of your time here – “It’s a unique place to study—enjoy the experience, explore the city, and build connections.”
